Perhaps I should explain that last post. When we were walking up Finchley Road near Golders Green, through the side streets we caught glimpses of a lone couple walking through a sea of sarcophagi. I'm somewhat intrigued by the art and ritual surrounding the dead. Especially if it contains some humour. That carries over into, or stems from, my interest in what I call 'comic goth' - Vincent Price, Alice Cooper, The Addams Family. I look forward to visiting some of the cemeteries of London. On our first weekend here we visited a small village in Suffolk called Coddenham and checked out a church dating from Norman times. The cemetery was overgrown with meter-high grass, and it had a decidedly spooky yet peaceful atmosphere. I think I'm going to enjoy my time here.
