Blah, almost 20 days since my last post. Apologies for my negligence. I'm still not a dad, but I did get to go to Windsor for an overnight. Stayed in Cumberland Lodge, which was a nice place out in the middle of nowhere with pictures of the Queen Mom in the drawing rooms. Then did The Long Walk from The Copper Horse to Windsor Castle. About a kilometer to the huge honkin' statue of King George the-something-or-other (I mean huge honkin' statue) and then another 5 km down a straight path to the castle. Nice view and a good way to approach the castle and be humbled by it's ever looming presence and solidity. Did the tour of course, but the state rooms were closed because of a visit from the king and queen of Jordan. Saw several dead kings in St. George's Chapel. Strange that some minor duke will have an elaborate tomb for himself and his wife yet most of the kings have a simple slab in the floor.
Elton John is in a television commercial for Royal Mail. And Angel subway station has the longest escalator I've ever been on. As you travel up it, if you tilt your head slightly upwards you can create the illusion that you are travelling straight up, a la Batman and Robin.
