Ooops, guess I've been badly negligent in keeping this journal up to date.

We've been here a year already. Amazing - the time just flew by. Yukiko is standing by herself and able to shuffle around the room holding onto furniture. She loves playing under the table when Yoshie is trying to work. She also has two teeth showing and loves dancing to music. She still cries a bit at nursery when she realizes mom isn't there, but overall she seems to like it.

I did finally finish The Diamond Age, but was confused and a bit let down by the ending. Before that I read Tales from Sanctuary, the Vampire Sex Bar which Jason gave me quite a while back. I quite enjoyed it. Now, what to read next...

Yoshie is trying to finish her masters thesis, which isn't easy considering she can't concentrate for more than an hour at a time before some little one makes demands of her. Hopefully things will work out by the end of October and we can take a short trip to the continent to celebrate the end of this phase of her academic adventures.
