Yukiko got her Canadian passport today. Now she can have beer and back bacon for lunch, play hockey and mask her massive inferiority complex about America by claiming that Canadians are lovers not fighters.

Yukiko is Japanese, Canadian, and as Yuka pointed out, born on Lucy Maud Montgomery's birthday. Will she embrace her heritage or rebel and become the Anti-Anne? Only time will tell...

It snowed yesterday! As this picture taken from our bedroom window proves. Ok, so it lasted no more than half an hour and it melted as soon as it touched the ground, but it's the most we've had all winter.

Yukiko's discovering her hands. She loves sucking on her thumbs and she's figured out how to make a rattling sound from one of the crib play-toy thingies (at some ungodly hour of the morning.) I also think she's starting to laugh, but perhaps I'm reading to much into some of the gurgling sounds she makes as she smiles.

Other than that it's pretty quiet here in the study zone.

Just came back from a small house party with some of Yoshie's co-students. Yukiko was of course the hit of the evening. On the way back at Baker Street and King's Cross stations we encountered 'enthusiastic' young people on their way to various parties in the capitol. After being a homebody for the past few months it was refreshing to be reminded of the excitement that surrounds me that is London. Old, dirty and loud as it is you can't deny its hipness.

The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, AND IT'S THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY!

I managed to install Red Hat linux on my laptop AND get it to work with the Alcatel usb high-speed modem. Now I just need to find an email client I like and figure out a way to move over my 500 MB of email from Outlook.

My first attempt at Yukiko's web page is up. Yes it's plain, but it's a beginning. Even has her first starring role in a web-video. Enjoy!
