Adam stopped by Sunday night. And I think I passed two Japanese exams tonight. More when I get some sleep.

Two weeks after moving into the top floor of my brother's house, my parents became heros by discovering a fire in the basement. No humans were hurt but unfortunately the two cats didn't make it. Lots of damage to the basement but it could have been much worse. The Halifax fire department was there in two minutes. Puts the Toronto fire department to shame. Way to go mom and dad!!

Yukiko's turning into the littlest vampire. She doesn't have any teeth yet. She stays up half the night (still on Japan time) and does this thing where she'll grab your arm or leg, study it for a few seconds then lunge and attack with her gums. It's funny as all blazes.

My babes are back! Yukiko stared at me a while before smiling. Hey, three weeks is a long time for someone who's only about 30 weeks old. They had a great time in Japan, of course. Pictures to follow.

Life is good. At least until Yoshie finds out I called her a babe.
