Despite Yoshie and me getting food poisoning Christmas eve eve and Yukiko waking up crying every hour during the past few nights Christmas was nice. I got a neat book Beer and Britannia - An Inebriated History of Britain, Yoshie got a new camera and Yukiko got lots of gifts from her grandparents. She especially enjoyed slowly and studiously transforming the wrapping paper into confetti. Holiday cheers to all!

No more commuting to Rochester until 2003 so I will be updating these pages. Just not today. Thank you for your patience. Stay tuned...

We took a (train to) Bath this weekend. Small and more crowded than I thought it would be. The tiny square between the cathedral and the roman baths had a neat medievalish feel to it, especially at twighlight with the buskers and giant flames from the hot air baloon basket. By the time we arrived, had a late lunch in the Pump Room took a walk up to The Circus and The Royal Crescent, and a quick look inside the cathedral it was too late to see the baths themselves. We were able to look down from the restaurant into the smoking green water though. A nice day out, but a little more planning (we only decided to go the night before) would have been a good idea. Lessons learned for our next day trip.

Yukiko turned one on Saturday! She seemed to like all the attention she was given at her party. Not to mention all the new toys. Charlotte, Sarah and Katherine showed up along with most of Yoshie's fellow DPU PhD students. More pictures to follow.
