Went to Highgate Cemetery yesterday. I had more to say but #$$%%^% Blogger lost it when I tried to publish. Well, I shouldn't complain - you get what you pay for.

Got a web cam. No, I'm not going to have a 24 hour Dave-cam (or a Yoshie-cam or a Yukiko-cam) but we would like to try to do video chats with our families in Japan and Canada. There are a few options for talking with my family but we have yet to find something that will cross the cultural divide - Mac/Windows. The latest version of Yahoo Messenger should be exactly what we need, but they don't have it in Japanese yet. Ah the joys of incompatible systems.

I FINALLY updated the pictures (up to mid-January) on Yukiko's web page. It only took me five months.

Yukiko's learned how to climb. Quickly and high. She's also learning that what goes up must come down, sometimes painfully. Ouch.

There's a rusting Soviet submarine in the river near Strood train station. Complete with hammer and sickle on its bridge. Parked right outside a pub. The same riverside pub that's flown, at various times, a skull and crossbones, a rainbow flag and the union jack.

Two (count 'em two) inches of snow brought North London to a standstill. But it did feel wonderfully familiar, if only for a day or two.
