I realize I haven't been posting nearly as much about Minami as I did about her sister. That's not a reflection on Minami, but on the business of our lives at the moment. I was essentially unemployed for the first six months of Yukiko's life. It was a wonderful opportunity to bond with her, but it's nice not to have to worry (so much) about money matters.
Minami seems much quieter and more patient than her sister. At eight weeks she's already over five kilograms and has endured Yukiko's crying, poking and general displays of drama. She's also the most robust, being the only one in the family to stay healthy through the recent bouts of chicken pox and colds.
It's deliciously spooky here as we approach Halloween. The leaves on the roads, the steely gray windswept skys, the early sunset and the ice on the windshield in the morning bring back fond memories of spooky canadian Octobers. We may even find a few ghouls on our doorstep Friday. And then bonfire nights. Have a wonderfully creepy weekend...
